About Us

The Radhe Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust (RKTEWT) is a public charitable trust, established in 2009, registered in October 2019 under the Gujarat Charitable Trust Act of 1950, focused on elephant welfare. We operate India's largest and most advanced Elephant Care facility in Jamnagar, providing state-of-the-art facilities for more than 240 rescued elephants who are injured, ill, elderly, abandoned, abused. RKTEWT provides specialised medical care, tailored husbandry, and lifelong support for elephants, upholding the highest standards of welfare.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment, surgical facilities, and intensive care centres, the hospital ensures expert treatment for various health concerns, including injuries, diseases, and chronic conditions.

Specialised Hydrotherapy Pools

Custom-built hydrotherapy pools with jet sprays are installed to treat arthritis, joint pain, and muscular stiffness. These pools help improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and enhance mobility, making them a crucial part of the recovery and long-term care for aging and injured elephants.

Elephant Nutrition Centre

The centre spans several thousand square feet and is designed to cater to the dietary needs of over 240 rescued elephants. Operating from before sunrise, we prepare meals tailored to each elephant’s specific dietary requirements, incorporating fodder, leaves,seasonal fruits, vegetables, grains, and supplements to support optimal health and digestion.

Elephant Caregiver Training Programme

Humane, compassionate care is prioritised for resident elephants. The Elephant Caregiver Training Programme, held every two weeks, equips caregivers with essential skills in elephant behaviour, health, and positive reinforcement techniques. By fostering mutual understanding and respect, elephants’ well-being is supported while caregiver safety is strengthened.
